The city of Reno, the little known cousin of Las Vegas. It wasn't as swanky or populated as Las Vegas, this was a good thing for its later residents who didn't want to attract attention. The bombs dropped all around them, Las Vegas was turned into a pile of ashes and its surrounding towns were attacked with biological and chemical weapons. This was the face of the majority of the War, cities being turned into instant graveyards. The voices of billions being silenced in a cloud of smoke and dust, this was the horror and reality they all were going to face when they sifted through the rubble. Though the residents of Reno were spared the horrors from the massive weaponry that each side had to offer. Their horrors were yet to come, their hopes of remaining left alone were quickly dashed as the city began to tear itself apart. The mayor of the city tried to form an acting milita to quell any riots or violence but they were quickly stomped on when the mayor was murdered by his deputy. The deputy mayor stepped up and proposed to reunite the city under one banner, his own. The populace began to fight back against him and his organized milita and he was forced to take action against them. Donning the uniform of an Army Colonel he stood up and  announced his intentions to step in for the missing presence of the United States goverment. His name was now Colonel Jeremy Cooper and he announced his groups new name, the Union Guard.

The Union Guard was able to secure the City Hall and outlying buildings, beginning to heavily fortify upon them and dig in. These men were a combined force of the disbanded miltia, police, and miltiary personnel. Jeremy made himself the defacto leader but also made sure to maintain the image that he valued a form of democracy amongst his faction. Though if the results were not what he wanted it was very well known the results would turn to favor him and his agenda. He recruited intellectuals and military minds to form a group of researchers to keep his force well ahead of his opponents however possible. This gave him an edge in numerous areas inside the city but was not enough for him to in any way to advance inside others territories. They fought fiercely and refused to budge or allow an inch of ground. His losses at first were immediately too much and he personally suspended any raids outside the 'Green Zone'. This action allowed for the other groups to finally begin to establish themselves outside of the 'Green Zone'. The infighting began immediately, the gangs and vicious tribal warfare was tearing apart these close knitted 'families'.  These families had to begin to 'adopt' others inside them to be able to even hold any sort of hope of not becoming slaves or meals. Cannibalism was on the rise and the populace was furious as starvation began to take place.

Nobody knew who to blame, they all pointed the fingers at each other and this made things even more desperate and bloody. The bodies littered the streets and the cries of heart broken families were heard on every street block. The peoples tears flowed like rivers from the massive amounts of losses suffered from the tribal warfare within the west part of the city. Slowly the violence began to die down to a trickle, these 'clans' were settling amongst each other knowing they had to survive. Warring only when they needed to, allowing for some sort of stability to emerge from all the senseless violence. Slowly they appeared from the dark and nasty basements, taking over the apartments and storefronts that they could. Though the initial resistance from the street gangs was fierce they were able to slightly carve themselves an area for themselves. These lines went back and forth amongst the clans and gangs many times over the days, weeks, months, and years. The stability of the clans was assured in the coming years allowing for some sort of 'peace' to occur. Slowly a sense of normality was able to come over the western districts amongst the sparse violence here and there. A sense of order was able to be achieved, but this wasn't the scene everywhere in the city. The 'Gangland' was the most violent and turbulent region in the city, what was once the central region of the city.

Many wars erupted immediately following the bombs dropping, the former criminal gangs that were within the ghettos and industrial areas of the city began to rise up and fight each other for their 'corners'. They intended to take every inch of land that was possibly to solidify a holding for themselves. Unsuprisingly the narcotics trade was stronger then ever, people wanting to shut off themselves from reality more and more then ever before. These gangs began to push the drugs farther into the city as much as possible, wanting to gain a profit as much as possible. They felt their best way to gain any sort of currency to pay for any guns, supplies or be able to pay their members. Slowly these gangs became more defined in tactics, reputations, and appearances, the former red, blue, and purple of these gangs disappeared with the years passing and slowly the faded colors disappeared into history. They now knew did not care for past transactions before the 'War', it was a live or die situation now. These gangs were playing a deadly game with the lives of innocents but were clearly not remorseful for it. They would use peoples fears of hunger and death to make them do extraordinary deeds of brutal attacks or suicidal 'missions'. These people were widely known inside the territories as Kites. These were unsuspecting victims whom were used to detect snipers, or the positions of rival gangs.

The story of the Gangland was not the same

The world was on the brink of Nuclear War, the UN negotiations between NATO and the Eastern Commonwealth broke down. The events that had led to this were far and many, the Commonwealth attack against Ukraine and Poland, along with the occupation of Georgia were what had sparked off the first battles. The conventional war had begun, the two sides were vast and numerous, the bombers were flying sorties around the clock. Cities were being smashed apart and armies were being deployed into the rubble to 'liberate' them from each other. The two sides had been meeting and clashing fiercely in many parts of the countries. Their armies each time were met with a stalemate. The NATOs technological background was not enough to destroy the sheer vast numbers of the Commonwealth completely. They were able to hold them back enough as to where the two were stuck in a bloody stalemate. But the two sides refused to end, each side was unwilling to claim defeat or back down from this fight after engaging so vigorously.

The generals and diplomats were running out of options, their desperation was showing as leaders gave their militaries authorization to use chemical and biological weapons. The cities and battlefields of the conflict became littered with skin bubbling bodies and mass graves. Hundreds of thousands perished within the span of seconds all over the world as the missiles and bombs fell upon the cities of Earth. As the toxic clouds covered the cities of all the countries the grip on deploying nuclear weapons lessened. With each city being covered in the gas of these weapons of mass destruction the death toll climbed up into the millions slowly. These weapons were all cheaply maintained, thus making the people suffer more rather than dying slowly. The leaders of each country finally couldn't tolerate it anymore. Self-control was for another day, the time for delays was no longer upon them they felt. Their people were dying in the streets, their families were being wiped out as they attempted to flee. Those that did flee were lucky, the missiles and bombers were beginning to fuel. Nuclear Armageddon was coming, the end of humanity as all had known it.

The people of Earth looked up into the skies as the time had come, the first ICBM had taken off at 12:04AM. The date was March 21st 2014, the bombers and silos began to empty as the giant balls of fire began to engulf the cities and countries of the planet. The intense heat created from the sheer volume of explosions going off had created the largest light possible to be seen from space. The unfortunate few that were stuck in space watched in horror as the war had finally ended with the launching of those nuclear weapons. Capitals, cities, and large towns were wiped off the face of the Earth within seconds. The outlying areas had been previously hit by the ruthlessly efficient tide of gassing. By the beginning of the morning, the lives of billions and the world as we knew it was gone. And so began the story of the survivors of this horrific event, they would have to pick up their lives from the within the rubble.

The year is 2024, ten years had went by since the Nuclear Holocaust that had wiped clean the Earth of all the proud countries. All that was left was radiation, dust, and the ruins of what were once large and bustling cities. The people were scattered everywhere and were beginning to run out of hope of ever retaining any sort of normality. Bands of people began to form nomadic groups that would settle here and there, constantly on the move to survive. Travelling had become the new way of life. With no form of currency, groups would trade weapons, ammunition, maps, and most importantly, food. With most of the land irradiated and poisoned by the nuclear fallout and chemical weapons, food was scarce. Groups were fighting over uncontaminated food and fertile land. Even after surviving such incredible destruction, the human race was still managing to wipe itself out. The sad remnants of earth scattered away from the radioactive cities and into the countrysides, ravaged by the War.

That's when life slowly tried to come back within the world. A group of former military and law enforcement officers of the United States began to work together in an area within Utah. A majority of them came from the ruins of Salt Lake City seeking refuge in the countryside as the dust settled. They began to slowly expand outwards, staying on the move constantly before they could find places that were stable enough to start over. These survivors were lead by a former Army Captain whom took it upon himself to at first try and just survive with the men he had just returned with from the conflict overseas. He and his men banded up with police whom they found on the way heading south from Salt Lake City. They began stockpiling their arms, ammo, and supplies to be able to survive on an old Airforce base that had been abandoned before the War. Refugees began to find their way to the disgruntled men and found some refuge amongst Pershing and his men.
